Job Description

Shirehampton park Golf Club is a private members club established in 1904. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Head Greenkeeper who is hard working and reliable and with the desire and ambition to help drive the course forward.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain the course to the highest standards for our members and guests with the given budget and resources available.

The successful candidate should meet the following criteria;

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Greenkeeper
• NVQ Level 3 in sports turf management or higher
• PA1, 2 and 6 chemical application licenses
• CS 30 and 31 chainsaw certificates preferred
• Machinery maintenance and setup experience, scheduling and replacement planning.
• Irrigation experience including repair and maintenance
• A good level of IT knowledge for use as management and communication tools
• Knowledge of procurement of Course Materials, and other related items
• Ability to set goals, targets and motivate a team.
• Ability to construct and manage a budget.
• Experience in golf course renovation programs, e.g. bunkers, drainage, irrigation and tree management.
• Knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation.
• Ability to work closely with the Greens Chairman to present an outstanding golf course year-round for members and visitors.

The Head Greenkeeper position is full-time, permanent based on a 40 hours’ week with weekend working on a Rota basis. Remuneration will be based on skill level and experience.
