Software Support Consultant

My client are an innovative, technology based, document management consultancy that provide a range of document control systems to their clients in the NHS and Local Government and commercial organisations.

They are currently working with 360 Resourcing Solutions to recruit a Software Support Consultant, to join them at their Bristol Offices.  Basic salary; £19,845 plus benefits and excellent career development.

Reporting to the Document Support Team Manager, you will be part of an exciting new team responsible for supporting clients in modifications and updates needed to documents managed by the company on the client’s behalf.

The Software Support Consultant will be trained to understand the content and construction of a variety of Commercial and NHS documents and will be part of a 2nd Line Support team involved in all aspects of technical and customer support.

The Software Support Consultant will be tasked with identifying and resolving reported issues involving the bespoke code-set installed with each customer, or with enhancing this code-set in accordance with customer specifications. You will work closely with clients and with 1st line support to resolve calls in an efficient and timely manner. This is a fast paced role which is often time critical.

Principal Activities

•             Understanding and implementing customer requirements

•             Identifying and implementing improvements to a ‘customisation’ code-set to bring it in-line with company standards

•             Investigating and remedying any faults occurring within a customisation or software application

•             Identifying and escalating any software issues to the Support Manager

•             Producing and maintaining a clear and succinct log of activities

•             Analysing and understanding customer data and processing rules

•             Writing and testing bespoke, criteria-based rule sets

Education

•             Minimum five GCSE Grade ‘C’ or equivalent, including English & Maths

•             Minimum 1 year commercial experience

In return our client offers a starting salary of £19,845 and a generous benefits package which includes salary increases with development, Contributory Pension and a Healthcare package.  As this is a new team there are excellent opportunities for the Software Support Consultant to progress within the company to 3rd line support or to a more specialist or team leader role.
