Our client is a forward-looking College of Further & Higher Education that serves a large area of South East England with a wide range of vocational and academic courses, both full and part time. The College is situated in Ewell, close to Epsom in Surrey, and is located in the green belt near Epsom Downs and can easily be accessed either by car or rail. The College was last inspected in February 2016 retaining its overall grading of 'Good' under the robust new Ofsted standards.

Trainer & Assessor in Electrical Installation

The College is set in an attractive green campus outside Epsom with a large free on-site car park, in a location convenient to London and the South East, next to a mainline station with excellent transport links. The College has recently undergone extensive redevelopment and are able to offer the facilities of a College campus in 7 acres of green belt in a peaceful setting, a final salary pension scheme and generous holidays

Taking full responsibility for a cohort of candidates on an Apprentice programme, you will be instrumental in ensuring they are ready for careers in electrical installation.

Working closely with candidates, you will monitor and review their progress, set targets and undertake assessments in the workplace. You will make sure they are aware of routes for progression and further development. Developing relationships with both existing and new companies, you will actively secure training opportunities and support the growth of apprenticeships. Naturally, you will develop employers' assessment capabilities, and make sure they are aware of their health, safety and equal opportunities obligations, as well as taking care to ensure work and college based aspects of the apprenticeship complement each other effectively. You will also contribute to resource development with colleagues

If you do not have a teaching qualifications, you must be willing to gain with our support.

You will have A1 / D32-33 / TAQA Assessor and ideally also V1 (D34) qualifications. You will certainly have a recognised qualification in Electrical Installation, including the 17th edition, together with proven, relevant industrial experience and competence. Taking a supportive and empathetic approach to a wide range of learners, you demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

You have good administrative skills and are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. As the role requires regular travel, you must also have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends is vital.
