In consultation with residents and staff, you will prepare and cook healthy meals which reflect resident`s preferences. You will ensure a sufficient supply of catering products by developing a system of ordering supplies in a timely manner. This role will require you to be responsible for the daily use of catering equipment and manage the cleaning procedures and schedules for the kitchen, in accordance with Health and Safety standards.

We are looking for a strong leader with excellent communication skills working to build a great team whilst motivating and supporting your staff team and ensuring all kitchen staff are clear about their duties and responsibilities. You will be building a dynamic and innovative commercially viable service offering a varied and nutritionally balanced offering. Developing the service externally in the community and looking to generate revenue.

• Provide effective and regular supervision sessions for staff within the team and support to identify training needs and assist staff to complete relevant documentation as directed.
• You would also need to complete staff rotas to ensure the department is staffed to appropriate levels.
• Monitor staff performance, report any issues to the Operations Manager assisting as required in the interview and selection of potential kitchen staff and ensure the appropriate induction and support of new staff to the kitchen.

You will need up to date Food Hygiene/First Aid certificates. Able to communicate and interact well with people, work as part of a team and empathise with the needs of older people.
