Practice Improvement is at the heart of our work across Action for Children, our team works to ensure that all children & young people are safeguarded and that children and young people who use our services achieve excellent outcomes whilst being safe & secure. We are a busy national team covering the whole of the United Kingdom: England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland. This role is based in our London Head Office which is where the Director of Practice Improvement and Head of Safeguarding are based.
How you’ll make a difference:
By making decisions on approval and deregistration of Foster Carers and Adopters as defined by Fostering and Adoption Regulations
By undertaking the same role in respect of Supported Lodging providers for vulnerable 16+ young people.
By ensuring that decisions made around placing children and approving carers always reflect sound safeguarding practices
By promoting the continued professional development and performance of all panel members
By being responsible for the appointment and appraisal of Panel Chairs, for fostering, supported lodgings and adoption services
By keeping senior management update on legislation and best practice changes
By analysing our services in relation to the ADM role, and reporting back through reports, presentations and attendance at meetings. Ensuring that the needs of children and carers are represented through these mediums
What you’ll need:
- You will be a qualified Social Worker
- Have recent experience of managing fostering or adoption services
- Have up to date knowledge of regulations relating to fostering, adoption and supported lodgings.
