Based in Maidenhead
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience
One of the UK's foremost and leading bakery companies are currently recruiting for a Category Manager at their Maidenhead Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a resourceful and commercially minded individual with significant experience within the FMCG arena to play an important role as part of a forward thinking business.
The Role
This is a hands-on customer facing role and a key part of the company's Category function. Reporting to the Category Controller, you would be responsible for developing and delivering category visions within retail customers, ensuring alignment with sales and brand strategy while delivering commercial value, measured by net sales and gross contributions. You will be expected to develop effective business relationships with retail customers, carry out range, space, and promotional performance analyses and recommendations, providing expertise and category leadership across all bakery categories.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be degree educated with significant experience in a fast-paced Category / Product Management environment, ideally within the food industry. An understanding of continuous research data warehouses such as Nielsen will be required as will excellent presentation skills and a demonstrable track record working with leading retailers.
You will have a strong commercial awareness, and must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of improving sales and profitability. You will be a flexible and adaptable individual with excellent communication and organisational skills.
