An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Technician to join the team of Keytech Managed Solutions, a well established IT company.  This role is based in Wigan, however, you will be required to carry out customer visits if necessary, therefore your own vehicle and driving licence is required.

Working in partnership with their customers they ensure they are maximising efficiencies with their current available resources and can move forward with new technologies and innovations as their business growth demands.

As an IT Support Technician your duties will be to:

  • Provide Support (24*7*365 on a rota basis) for all company group customers
  • Deliver a quality Service Desk service on a daily basis (for customers and internal), in conjunction with other IS functions and external suppliers, ensuring that any issues are logged, prioritised and resolved within SLA’s
  • Deliver quality helpdesk service OOH to managed 24*7 customers
  • Promote proactive support to all customers in order to prevent errors reoccurring
  • Maintain systems user security
  • Perform moves / changes on the company telephone system
  • Provide Support on PC, LAN, and other connectivity issues for the company and its customers
  • Use Company processes to design, build & support all desktop & laptop PCs and servers
  • Use Company processes to distribute software as appropriate to PCs and servers around the network
  • Ensure any documentation is kept up to date
  • Identifying additional customer requirements even if they are outside of contracted support and notify Account Manager

An ideal IT Support Technician will hold the following skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience working in a helpdesk support environment via telephone / remote or on –site
  • Certified in Microsoft Exchange 2010 or 2013
  • Certified in Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Extensive Active Directory knowledge
  • Knowledge of web / email filtering
  • Be pro-active in up-skilling other members of the service desk team
  • Hardware – Servers / PCs / Printers / LAN hardware
  • Software – Server & Desktop operating systems / E-mail / Desktop applications
  • Experience of firewalls both hardware and software
  • Wide Area Network and Local Area Network experience
  • Mobile Device Management (android / IOS / Blackberry)
  • Backup / Restore from Files & Folders to BMR
  • Monitoring & Management of contracted equipment

This role is working a 24x7 shift pattern.

In return you will receive a salary of £18,000 - £22,000 per annum dependant on experience.
