We currently have an exciting opportunity to for a Group Internal Auditor (GIA) to join our team, undertaking audits in line with internal audit/risk work programme covering Group functions and subsidiary companies. Within the role, you will support the Group Internal Audit Manager (GIAM) in the development of the internal audit plan and Group wide risk process.

Assisting in the production and/ or development of the Group and subsidiary risk registers, you will carry out risk environment reviews throughout the Group using modern audit techniques and communicate recommendations for enhancements. Candidates for this role will produce clear, concise and factual reports detailing the findings alongside reviewing Group Policies that support risk management, internal control and lines of defence, ensuring they are accurate. Monitoring Group lines of defence such as specialist/external requirements, you will make certain all key risk audit findings/ recommendations are closed out in an efficient manner. The successful Group Internal Auditor will maintain awareness of risk and control industry best practices and changes in corporate governance requirements whilst ensuring risk auditing is undertaken within professional standards and the Mears audit code of conduct.

With previous experience of risk based auditing in one or more of the following sectors; built environment, social housing, domiciliary care, local government or a group structured PLC. You will be a part/full qualified internal audit/ chartered accountant or willing to undertake such training. Candidates for this role will ideally hold previous experience of using CAATs coupled with a can do positive attitude. A proficient user of IT, you will be a competent user of Excel, Word. PowerPoint, Data Bases and Data mining tools. With ability to write reports, you will possess analytical skills and be capable to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. This position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to experience a variety of sectors and real progression going forward.

Candidates must hold a full driving licence
