We have a fantastic new job opportunity within a busy Finance Team for a Management Accounts Assistant / Part-Qualified Accountant that has Ledger / Journal posting experience with a good understanding of the basic accounting principles.
Working as the Management Accounts Assistant / Part-Qualified Accountant you will support the Management Accounts Team in respect of preparation, collation and reporting of P&L and balance sheet monthly results.
As the Management Accounts Assistant / Part-Qualified Accountant you will be involved with posting daily bank transactions and completing daily bank reconciliations. Ad-hoc data analysis and reporting on an ongoing basis to improve management information that is shared across the business.

DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Management Accounts Assistant / Part-Qualified Accountant:
- Ledger / journal entry in preparation of monthly and quarterly Management Accounts and Management Information in accordance with established timetables allowing the performance of the business to be monitored and managed
- Bank journal / ledger entry in preparation of daily and monthly bank reconciliations in accordance with established timetables
- Maintain supporting schedules for journal / ledger postings ensuring clear audit trail and self-review of those documents for improvement of reporting
- Working with operational and commercial people in the business to support them with financial analysis across business areas
- Assist with P&L analysis of certain business areas, identifying key variances for investigation and being able to assess the necessary adjustments following from the review
- Assist in analysing and preparing reports, KPI’s and performance statistics/graphs that form part of the Finance Pack or as ad-hoc reporting
- Assist with Fixed Assets postings, reconciling the Fixed Assets register on a monthly basis
- Support the Budget Process & Forecasting
- Assist in preparation of US monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations to be performed monthly in accordance with deadlines.
- Familiarity with internal controls and/or SOX compliance and ensuring all internal controls are followed to achieve a successful SOX audit
- Assist with Company Secretarial statutory filing, and other non-statutory reporting such as National Statistics
- Assist with statutory accounts production, particularly independent management of the roll-forward of dormant entities
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Part Qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA with some accountancy experience (particularly around journal / ledger postings, trial balance concept and balance sheet reconciliations) and a good understanding of the basic accounting principles. Other qualifications are considered
- Must be organised, efficient and enthusiastic, striving to improve processes and encourage positive change across the business
- Excellent IT skills with Advanced Excel (basic formulas, pivots tables, “if” statements, lookups as a minimum) and Access/Query skills
- Able to contribute to all areas of the business, not just finance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present clearly and concisely to a small audience
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Drive and enthusiasm with the desire to develop within the organisation
- Hands on approach with the ability to prioritise multi tasks to tight deadlines
- Detailed and methodical attitude towards problem resolution to ensure accurate reconciliations are performed
- Ability to travel (ad-hoc) and work flexibly particularly at month, quarter and year end
