Our client who is based on the outskirts of Midsomer Norton and are a well-established and hugely successful company are looking for a Junior IT System Developer as part of the ongoing growth of our systems development team.

This is a fantastic opportunity with an excellent salary dependent upon experience

This position is a hands-on development role that additionally includes 2nd line support for the company's bespoke software solutions.

Technology is a key enabler for our customers and a key focus for the company.

The current technology infrastructure is based on Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, JQuery, HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, JSON and MS SQL Server for the database backend. The adoption of new technologies is a constant endeavour to make sure they are quick to respond to changing market needs.

They are seeking a Developer with an aptitude for building scalable, predictable, high-quality and high-performance web applications on the Microsoft technology stack. You will be responsible for maintaining, and subsequently building, internal and external- facing applications. This person will work with a team of experienced developers and business resources to build high performing enterprise systems for blue chip clients.

Main Areas of responsibility:

*Maintain software products to support both the business and clients.
*Improve functionality of our existing software products.
*Participate in a small, experienced, energetic team on a rapid, development schedule.

Core Skills / Requirements:

*Experience as a developer.
*Exposure to ASP.NET/VB.NET.
*Exposure to MS SQL Server.
*Exposure to HTML.
*Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).
*Ability to learn quickly and adapt to an existing, complex environment.
*Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit good communication skills.
*Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices.

Beneficial:

*Experience with ASP.NET/VB.NET.
*Experience working with MS SQL Server.
*Experienced with Javascript, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, JSON and similar technologies.
*Knowledge of the .NET Framework, including Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET.
*Understanding of SQL Server stored procedures.

Salary/Benefits

Hours 37.5 per week - 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (one hour lunch)
