Marketing Assistant (part time)
To help manage the increasing amount of marketing and communications activities, we are looking for a part time marketing assistant (25 hours per week).
The marketing assistant will provide support in a broad range of areas including email marketing, social media, website updates, helping to plan and prepare for promotional events, gathering feedback on training and events, and drafting marketing fliers and other marketing materials.
The Marketing Manager will work with the successful candidate to align tasks and responsibilities to their particular areas of strength. As the marketing assistant becomes familiar with the organisation and the industry it serves, there is also scope to potentially take ownership of campaigns for specific membership sectors.
Applicants need to demonstrate a 'can do' attitude and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. They will also need to have an excellent communication and proven written skills as one of their main duties will be to produce weekly communications for members of the Association.
Due to deadlines specific to certain responsibilities of this role, hours worked must include Mondays and Thursdays.
Principal Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the Marketing Manager in a broad range of activities and tasks including:
- Writing e-mail based communications for different audiences
- Data cleansing of contact lists
- Drafting marketing materials to promote training courses, conferences, events etc
- Collecting feedback from training attendees, conference delegates etc
- Updating website pages
- Collating information and data for reporting purposes
- Social Media support
- Assisting with the creation of key documents
The above outlines the principal duty/task areas where the marketing assistant will provide support. It may be amended from time to time, in consultation with the successful candidate, to ensure the role continues to support the achievement of the organisations aims and business objectives.
You will have:
- A marketing related qualification (any level/provider)
- Previous experience of working in a marketing role
- Good all round IT skills
- Excellent communication skills, experience of creating marketing materials and attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and an ability to manage a range of competing demands
- Adaptable, proactive and a positive team player approach
Additional desirable qualities include:
- Experience of Google Analytics and SEO
- Previous experience of working for a membership organisation
- Experience of using Wordpress based websites
- Experience of managing social media channels from a business perspective
