Our clients’ hotel is currently on a drive to set the standards of excellence in the luxury sector of the hotel industry, one of Surrey’s most dynamic and successful industries. Every Guest is unique and their team strives to create individual moments of service excellence for their business and leisure travellers. The hotel now has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Night Manager to join their team.

Skills and Requirements

  • A good level of English literacy (fluent) and numeracy.
  • At least two years’ experience at supervisor level in a four star property.
  • Be fully conversant with Microsoft Office and hotel PMS systems (OPERA/Micros).
  • A Thorough knowledge of AA Four Star Standards.
  • Confident in taking initiative and implementing strategy.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and persuade a multi-cultural team.
  • Make the accurate completion of the daily night audit in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee preparation of daily summary reports (Downtime, Handover and traces).
  • Check all tasks are completed on each shift by all team members and that a full and thorough handover takes place at the end of the shift.
  • Report for duty punctually in the correct uniform, paying attention to personal hygiene and tidiness.
  • Ensuring that personal appearances meets and exceeds company guidelines at all times.
  • Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire,
  • Emergency and bomb treat.
  • A working knowledge of yield management.
  • Third level industry qualification. (BSc/HND).

Job Description

  • To help assist the Night Manager in all aspects of the department including but not limited to operations, planning, staffing and time keeping in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.
  • To ensure the delivery of an engaging and dynamic guest experience from welcome to departure from all team members.
  • To help the night manager to plan departmental strategy and ensure that business goals and customer service goals are reached.
  • To help the night manager to monitor, adapt and enforce standard operating procedures.
  • To help the night manager to maximise revenues through occupancy, room rates, and upselling hotel facilities.
  • To help the night manager to communicate with other hotel departments to ensure smooth business delivery.
  • To help the night manager to ensure thorough induction, training and development is carried out for new starts.
  • To help the night manager to monitor, review and appraise team members performance on a regular basis.
  • To continually research and identify areas to exceed competitor standards.
  • To help the night manager to determine departmental KPIs and ensure their delivery.
  • To ensure that the income and guest charges are posted and that full documentation is compiled relating to each day’s business for the accounts team.
  • To check the balancing of daily business postings against all monies taken.
  • Covering for the Night Manager’s nights off, the
  • Assistant Night Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the hotels’ business is accounted for and processed accurately and on time.
