Support Worker
The client is a 12 year old boy with a severe physical impairment who lives in the family home in Bridgwater. He is a full time wheelchair user and requires assistance with all aspect of his personal care and activities of daily living.
The client has no cognitive impairments and is a bright and able young person in these terms. He has some difficulties with speech but does communicate verbally. He attends a local mainstream secondary school and will need some support with his studies and homework.
The client has a keen interest in sports and may require assistance to access sporting groups and events.
The role may involve some domestic responsibilities and supervision / care of the client's sibling to facilitate the client having time alone with his parent(s) when necessary.
Previous experience working with children with a physical impairment and full driving licence are essential.
10 hours per week to include Thursdays and one other weekday.
Additional hours may be available to cover holidays/sickness, and during holiday time. Occasional weekend hours may be available also.
GBP9.00 per hour.
