Service Engineer

Service Manager
Work experience/qualifications/requirements
Strong hydraulics experience with ability to fault find
Basic pneumatics
Strong electrical knowledge, fault finding and installation
17th edition
PLC experience, Siemens, Mitsubishi & Omron
Technical support for customers and colleagues
Welding MIG/ARC
Fitting/fabrication
Proven field service experience
Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
Drivers license
Counterbalance and MEWP licenses (desirable)
Relevant HND/Degree qualifications
Primary duties
Attend Customer’s site for machine breakdowns, servicing, training, fault finding and installations
Repair work onsite
Produce timely and detailed service reports
Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
Build positive relationships with customers
Generating leads for future sales and promoting company services
Produce risk assessment & method statement whilst on site
Secondary duties
Machine fitting in factory when not out at Customer’s sites
Training of employees

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Service Engineer
£13.00 to £15.00 ph (reviewed after probation), anticipated overtime up to £40K
Hours of work:
40 hrs pw, M-T 7am-5pm (Breaks, 2 x ½hr 10am-10.30am & 1pm-1.30pm) F 7am-11.30am (Break 1 x ½hr 10am-10.30am). Breaks are unpaid.
Overtime rates:
After 40 hours M-T 1+1/3, F after 12 1+1/2, S 1+1/2 for first 6hrs then double time thereafter, double time on Sundays
Holiday entitlement
160 hrs (of which some may be assigned by Company over Xmas) plus statutory bank holidays
Sick pay entitlement
None (statutory sick pay applies after 5 days)
Probationary period:
6 months
