Job Title: Development and Support Engineer

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) + excellent benefits and superb working environment

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week)

Our Client is a world leader in payment solutions across voice, web and mobile channels. They are a PCI DSS Level One accredited Service Provider, currently processing over $1bn in card payments annually. Our Client's solutions enable payments transactions and enquiries to be processed without exposing sensitive cardholder data to their clients' employees. This significantly reduces their clients' liabilities without impacting customer service. Their aim is simple, to help their customers make every contact centre experience satisfying and secure for consumers.

To support their growth into the US market they are seeking a Development and Software Support Engineer to join their team. 

The Development and Software Support Engineer is responsible for:

  • Bespoke Customisation and Configuration: Utilising common scripting languages such as JavaScript and Regular Expression to provide extended functionality between customer systems and their in house software
  • Development Process: Developing customer specific solutions, extending the existing software suite on solo projects or as part of a team working with senior developers.
  • Software Support: Providing new and existing clients with excellent levels of support both in new site roll-outs and ongoing support, both remotely and with on-site visits. Assisting in the pre-sales process to discuss technical product details and requirements with potential customers

Job Summary

To succeed in the role, the successful candidate will possess the following:

Key Skills:

  • A good understanding of JavaScript, Regular Expressions, JSON structure, XML and HTTP
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Knowledge of secure web technologies
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to explain technical concepts in a friendly and patient manner
  • An aptitude to learn new skills and apply knowledge to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually but without continual supervision

Desirable skills:

  • Experience working with Linux
  • Knowledge of telephony systems
