Mears Housing Management has gone through a period of very rapid growth over the past three years. We now manage in excess of 10,000 homes nationally including accommodation for Homeless families, affordable rent, market rent, students and care.
Over the next five years we plan to maintain our growth and pre-eminent position in the market. We are building a team to support and manage this growth ensuring we maintain the highest standards in all that we deliver.
With this in mind, an excellent opportunity has now arisen for a passionate and motivated individual to join us as Finance Manager at our office in Enfield.
Within this role, you will use your proven skills to support the Finance Controller to shape the team, developing systems to ensure the finance function within MHM performs to its best ability, providing accurate and useful management information to the Senior Management Team. You will also help implement strategies to minimise the impacts of risks.
You will be responsible for monitoring the day-to-day financial operations within MHM, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions. Whilst overseeing financial department employees, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, you will also track the financial performance of MHM to identify areas for potential improvement.
In order to be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Accountant (CIMA and ACCA) and will have substantial Finance Management experience.
With experience of developing and implementing finance procedures, you should have a track record in improving services and performance and will have knowledge of Financial IT systems, preferably SUN.
In addition, it is essential that you understand the requirements of an audit and internal controls and have strong general Accountancy knowledge.
You need to be driven, focused yet empathetic, and will be able to motivate your team to deliver great customer service at the same time as meeting finance deadlines.
