This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing firm of Accountants based near Basingstoke, Hampshire and Egham, Surrey. They provide a full spectrum of client-centric accountancy services (except for Audit), provided both via traditional and cloud-solutions (including Xero), enabling client's to get the information they need, whenever and wherever they are. This means they aren't just able to meet their needs now; they aim to be there to invest themselves in their business, and be there as it grows and matures.

Role

A new opportunity has arisen for a Tax Manager to join their practice. At least five years small firm accountancy practice experience is essential. The individual should be proactive and manage their own work load, but also be a team player who is keen to help others, so line management experience would be preferred. An ability to own relationships with clients (current and potential) would be expected. Xero experience useful, Sage, Iris and VT experience helpful. Details include:

- Temporary or Permanent (full-time or part-time);
- £30k-£45k (pro-rated) depending on experience and hours of work; and
- Office based, near Basingstoke, but also potentially working at client's premises and other office.

Main duties include, but may not be limited to:

- Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe from both a personal and corporation tax perspective;
- Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise, especially around exit planning and estate planning;
- Provide innovative tax planning and review complex tax returns;
- Identify and mitigate tax risks;
- Manage tax provision and tax compliance process;
- Also as they are a small practice, it would include other general Accountancy responsibilities, including Accounts preparation for Sole Traders, Partnerships, LLPs and Limited companies (private and CICs) and back-up for other team tasks;
- Reviewing work prepared by all levels of staff and potentially managing the office in the absence of senior management; and
- Proactively identifying gaps or risks in any key processes and proposing solutions to rectify, using benefit of previous (Practice) experience.

It's a great opportunity in two lovely offices, to not only further develop your tax skills, but potentially also for the right candidate to take on more responsibility too, if they wanted to, for example group responsibilities or line management with emphasis on the development of people internally.
