JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Ambulance Make Ready Operative / Health Care Medical Supplies Stock Assistant that has good organisational, time-management and administrative skills.

Working as the Ambulance Make Ready Operative / Health Care Medical Supplies Stock Assistant you will work closely with the Fleet and Deep Clean Team to ensure the Ambulance is clean, stocked with the right equipment and supplies and is ready prior to shift start times.

As the Ambulance Make Ready Operative / Health Care Medical Supplies Stock Assistant you will:

  • Ensure all equipment is safety checked and in working order and in date
  • Ensure vehicles consumables are restocked according to vehicle check lists
  • Take weekly and Monthly stock takes of consumables and products
  • Order consumables with suppliers
  • Manage medical gases on board
  • Maintain and update Fleet information
  • Ensure vehicles are cleaned and in line with CQC requirements including three monthly deep cleaning of vehicles

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Ambulance Make Ready Operative / Health Care Medical Supplies Stock Assistant:

  • Carry out routine safety checks of all medical equipment
  • To sign in and out all vehicles and related equipment to crews to ensure there are no delays to crews beginning their shift
  • Record and report any incidents, vehicle damage, defects and deficiencies of the vehicle and equipment to your Line Manager or to the Operations Manager
  • Regularly check and ensure all consumables are in date, any out of date stock is removed from circulation and correctly disposed of
  • Rotation of stock to ensure products do not go out of date
  • Manage and maintain correct stock levels in all medical bags, pods and ambulances
  • Restock vehicles accurately using vehicle consumables lists
  • Inform the Team Leaders of low stock levels within the storeroom whilst managing and issuing stock
  • Complete monthly storeroom stock-takes
  • Ensure all ambulances are stocked with medical gases to include managing on a daily basis, replenishing stock, ordering and validating through regular stock checks
  • Report vehicles that arrive to the station in an untidy and dirty state to your Line Manager
  • Ensure vehicles are prepared ready for use in line with the Company’s cleaning manual
  • Complete the daily, weekly and monthly station cleaning sheets according to responsibilities as assigned in the cleaner’s handbook
  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed according to current policies and procedures

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a similar role would be highly desirable. Although not essential as additional training will be provided
  • Candidates that have experience working as a stock taking assistant, house keeper, cleaner or have worked in a similar type of environment would be ideal
  • Must have good organisational, time-management and administrative skills
  • Must have a good eye of detail and work methodically with the ability to follow set processes and procedures
