Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Finance Business Partner to join our team in Viridor House Taunton, working 37.5 hours per week.
Finance Business Partner responsibilities:
- Producing regular, accurate and insightful management information to allow management to make informed decision and drive performance.
- Investigating and challenging reasons for variance of actual against Budget and Forecast.
- Supporting and challenging the preparation of applications to the Investment Review Committee.
- Supporting and challenging operational managers to complete robust annual budgets.
- Reviewing the consolidation of budgets & forecasts.
- Managing the month end reporting process for the business liaising closely with operational managers, administration team and central finance department.
- Working with operational and administration team to ensure month end processes and journals are standardised and appropriate month-end checklists are in place and being completed.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts ensuring all material assets and liabilities have been correctly accounted for.
- Ensuring stocks are appropriately accounted for in all aspects and ensure purchase ledger and sales ledger accruals are kept tidy and any issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
- Provision of advice and support to operational and administration team in respect of financial queries, policy and procedures.
- Reviewing, updating or implementing necessary processes and controls to ensure the financial results are robust and free from material error.
- Carrying out internal site audits twice annually or more frequently if required to ensure business adherence to financial controls and procedures.
- Carrying out quarterly review of Asset Registers & Capital WIP and ensure that necessary ACF's are raised to ensure these are robust and assets depreciated.
- Periodically reviewing lifecycle cost assumptions and update forecasts/budgets as appropriate.
- Liaison with internal and external auditors including provision of information to satisfy audit requirements.
- A recognised accountancy qualification at an appropriate level.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Proven experience within the finance industry.
- Experience of Management of P&L accounts to high standard.
- Excellent accounting skills, ability to quickly understand & analyse financial information.
- Ability to produce high quality financial reports in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial requirements in a straightforward manner at senior & lower levels.
- Self-motivated, able to use initiative.
- Logical thinker with an eye for detail.
- Strong numerical & well developed IT skills.
- Experience of analysis and reconciliation of monthly and annual accounts.
- Auditor liaison and information preparation.
