Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager, B2B Sales, Sales Executive, Account Manager, OTE £45k

Business Development Manager with at least 3 years' experience in B2B Sales is needed by our client, one of the fastest-growing scientific, technical and medical publishers in the world. Established in 2012, our client is dedicated to producing high quality print and digital B2B media products, and has successfully launched 5 brands serving healthcare and scientific markets globally.

You will be working on their flagship publication and will be responsible for developing and selling tailored marketing programs to some of the world's biggest companies in analytical science.

The day to day role (80%) is based at their office in Knutsfield, Cheshire, or home-based depending on your location. The role will also involve regular travel (20%) throughout the UK, mainland Europe, the US, and sometimes further afield, visiting customers directly and attending exhibitions.

Duties:

  • Driving sales revenue and meeting all sales targets and deadlines
  • Actively promoting and selling opportunities to new and existing clients
  • Maintaining high levels of outbound prospecting and contacts, and developing new business through effective and planned prospecting
  • Devising promotional strategies aimed at increasing revenue
  • Preparing campaign proposals for clients
  • Face to face meetings with prospects when necessary
  • Ensuring forecast revenues and sales figure reporting is accurate and up to date
  • Building relationships with clients and delivering excellent customer service
  • Attending industry exhibitions and trade shows for sales prospecting and relationship development
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth running of your portfolio of products


The Successful Candidate:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in B2B sales or consultative selling
  • Must be educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Ambitious, highly motivated, driven, self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (reporting skills)
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with potential and existing clients
  • Track record of presenting at a senior level
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrable experience of working well under pressure
  • Exceptional objection handling skills
  • Determination to close the sale
  • Documented history of professional and academic over-achievement
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Possess strong research and analytical skill
  • IT skills - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Web Research, Database Packages
