Job Title: Grinder
Your work in involves precision engineering and requires a high standard of workmanship. Your role is critical to the success of the manufacturing ability of this company - as a skilled engineer your awareness at all times is expected to ensure the Company can produce a product that meets all its specifications and requirements at an output rate which is viable and allows the Company to remain competitive in its market place.
Primary Job Mission:
To contribute your skill and expertise effectively and efficiently towards the overall production of the part;
Main tasks & duties Skilled application of your ability in contributing to the production of parts for final presentation of manufactured product; Ensure your applied working on parts is according to customer specification and quality standards; Use of Grinding Equipment and Abrasive Wheels (ABW) as required, ensuring any applicable guarding is fully operational and in place during the use of any machinery; Ensure dust extraction in use and functioning (so far as is reasonably practicable) Understanding and application of the Abrasive Wheels Regulations with regards to the changing, storage etc of ABW; Use of oil stones and hand-tools as required; Liaise with Inspection Department as required; Ability to understand and interpret Engineering drawings; Report and discuss any deviation from drawings with the Works Manager; Ensure required product checks are carried out as determined by product and the quality inspection requirements; Strive towards zero defects; Ensure plant is used to its optimum efficiency; Ensure work areas are tidy and apply strong housekeeping principles; Prompt reporting to Works Manager of any machine, tooling, equipment, product, etc defects; Work to meet an indicated time frame and delivery time scale.
GENERAL

Therefore please ensure all aspects of your work, relating to environmental issues, are carried out in line with the policy and procedures of the company, this includes, responsible and prompt action in relation to any spillages and correct disposal of all waste including general waste created in every day working. Paperwork Ensure that all applicable and required paperwork is completed, recorded and filed as per company policy and procedures.
