Job role:
The role of Bid Manager will be to support the New Business Team with producing industry leading responses to formal bid requests from active prospects, often large corporates.
Operating in line with the New Business department's 'Bid Process' -the role of Bid Manager will primarily include working with the New Business Team in the production of bid responses, presentations and commercial responses, whilst ensuring accuracy of data, compliance to operating procedures and fulfilment of tight customer deadlines.
The Bid Manager will also deliver an in-house interface between supporting departments and Business Development Managers, whilst updating a growing bid reference library.
Day-to-day duties:
- Responsible for supporting the New Business sales process by producing and preparing bid responses / formal presentations for delivery to active prospects
- Recording key opportunity information within the 'Bid Brief', to be communicated to all project stakeholders, delivering a clear overview of the bid requirements
- Conducting bid reviews with BDMs to gain insight and develop the response strategy
- Coordinating and liaising with the other team members / internal departments to manage internal responses, particularly with the preparation of a formal bid response
- Responsible for delivering bid responses, for all bid types including specialist products such as LCV, ECO, Blended and White Label, in the required format(s), ensuring accuracy and delivery within agreed timescales
- Tracking bid activity/progress within the 'Bid Checklist' to enable key stakeholders to access a live update of ongoing bid progress at any time
- Record an accurate and detailed log of all additional information requests, including requests to the prospect and internal departments
- Assist with the general workload for hitting project deadlines
- Assist with the preparation of awards submissions in conjunction with the Marketing team
- Provide support in the compiling of existing customer bids alongside internal teams
- Review bid feedback and pass onto relevant internal parties for discussion on improvements for future responses
- Implement new procedures in a positive manner and ensure the team has up to date information on changes across the business at all times
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
The successfully appointed Bid Manager will ideally have industry experience and previous experience in production of bids. You will have exceptional writing skills to successfully produce and co-ordinate winning bid responses and be able to build relationships with and assist with producing market leading responses.
