HR MANAGER, CANNOCK, GLOBAL MANUFACTURING BUSINESSYour new companyMy client are a highly successful manufacturing business providing parts into the worlds largest and most prestigious automotive brands. Following a significant investment and the set up of a brand new manufacturing operation, they now have a requirement for an experienced HR Manager to join their team.You will lead the HR, Training, H & S and Payroll teams so strong management skills are essential to the success of this position.Your new roleAs HR Manager you will set and deliver (through the HR Team) a strategic action plan to meet Plant and Business Objectives in Safety, HR, L&D and Environment. You will be the custodian of Change Management for the Plant, providing solutions which provide flexibility and cost avoidance as required.You will deliver excellent and regular communication to the workforce to promote engagement and retention whilst promoting and driving continuous improvement in Health and Safety Standards and act as H&S champion on the Senior Management Team.You will deliver the UK Training Strategy for the site through management of the training team with responsibility for delivering the Plants recruitment needs effectively and to budget. As HR Manager you will run a best practice Apprenticeship Programme, through management of the Training Controller, which addresses business skill shortages and work towards the creation of a plant wide succession plan and subsequent talent management programs.It is essential that you have previous experience managing headcount and labour costs to agreed levels, challenging excess and providing accurate and timely reporting. You will form part of the Plant Management Team, contributing to the Management agenda with business focused People Solutions. You will be the Plants legal custodian on all employment matters providing and overseeing ER processes which meet business needs whilst minimising risk and upholding fair treatment (inc D&G, Performance & Capability Management. You will operate as an active member of the UK HR Team, working with other HR Managers to strive for standardisation and industry best practice within HRS field of influence. What you'll need to succeedIt is essential that you have previous HR management experience gained within a manufacturing/engineering or very closely related environment including managing a multi discipline team.As HR Manager you will have an aptitude to understand the headcount status for the Plant in detail and plan future requirements. The role plays a leading role in controlling headcount and associated costs to budget.You will be able to demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships at all levels, to be seen as a credible and knowledgeable sounding board to the Plant Director and Senior Team giving consideration to people matters and understanding the business impact. You will deliver results against measurable and timed objectives, this will be both on an individual basis and through the effective Management of the Department. What you'll get in returnMy client are offering a salary of cGBP40,000-GBP43,000 plus a GBP5,000 car allowance, bonus and an excellent benefits package.
