Logistics Foreman

Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Logistics Foreman to join our team in East Wretham working 45 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days.

Logistics Foreman key responsibilities:

• Acting as first point of contact for the collection fleet, drivers and crew.
• Active involvement in the promotion of all company services.
• Ensuring security of vehicles and equipment.
• Promoting safety in the workplace using Viridor systems.
• Maintaining satisfactory records.
• Driving any vehicle which you have been trained to operate as directed by the Logistics Unit Manager or traffic office.
• Ensuring drivers are competent and trained in the operation of company vehicles by reviewing drivers every 6 months and ensure all new employees prior to starting work go through driver assessment and completing company specified hours of training and induction
• Ensuring drivers undertake work in accordance with risk assessments, ect.
• Ensuring drivers work to specified hours and specified rotas.
• Undertaking vehicle audits to ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Ensuring vehicles are serviced and maintained in line with company procedures.
• Providing cover for absent Logistics Co-ordinators when required.
• Adhering to legal requirements regarding hours, highway regulations, permits and legislation.
• Working unsociable hours and travel to other parts of the business when necessary.

 
The ideal Logistics Foreman:

• Experience of driving LGV vehicles in a commercial environment and full driving license.
• Thorough knowledge of current legislation of LGV vehicles.
• Knowledge of Drivers Working Regulations, Drivers Hours.
• Tachograph / Digital smart card Operation
• Good communication skills
• Self-motivated and flexible approach
• Good customer care skills
• Ability to work under pressure, often with conflicting deadlines
• Good standard of education (GCSE/Standard Grade or equivalent) 

In return for your hard work, you can expect to receive a salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum with a range of benefits
