Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Plymouth, working 45hrs per week, Monday to Friday.

Logistics Coordinator responsibilities:

In this position, you will be competently supervising a Logistic teams activities within Plymouth and to ensure that they are carried out in a safe, professional, economical and timely manner in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures. Responsibilities will also include:
  • Supervising, with the aid of the Plymouth team, the day to day operation of the Plymouth collection operations.
  • Ensuring that all Health and Safety, Road Transport, Environmental, Employment and other applicable legislation is adhered to.
  • Planning and controlling the team operations ensuring the co-operation and co-ordination of all required activities to maximise efficiencies and profitability.
  • Allocating and controlling vehicles including subcontractors efficiently to meet the operational requirements and resources.
  • Ensuring a cost effective, quality service is carried out identifying opportunities for business growth.
  • Availability and on call for all emergencies relevant to this role.
  • Supporting the Logistics Unit Manager with compilation of budgets, maximising revenue, controlling costs, forecasting and variance explanation.
  • Ensuring the effective utilisation of both mechanical and human resources, in performing the services.
  • Ensuring direct reports are fully compliant with all company policies and procedures.
The ideal Logistics Coordinator:
  • An understanding of fleet operating systems
  • Full knowledge of Road Transport and Environmental legislation
  • Ability to route vehicles effectively taking into account profit and productivity
  • Previous experience of customer experience management and strategy
  • Previous experience controlling fleet activities.
  • Hold a full CPC in road transport, or to be committed to attaining one within a short timescale
