Logistics Coordinator responsibilities:
In this position, you will be competently supervising a Logistic teams activities within Plymouth and to ensure that they are carried out in a safe, professional, economical and timely manner in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures. Responsibilities will also include:
- Supervising, with the aid of the Plymouth team, the day to day operation of the Plymouth collection operations.
- Ensuring that all Health and Safety, Road Transport, Environmental, Employment and other applicable legislation is adhered to.
- Planning and controlling the team operations ensuring the co-operation and co-ordination of all required activities to maximise efficiencies and profitability.
- Allocating and controlling vehicles including subcontractors efficiently to meet the operational requirements and resources.
- Ensuring a cost effective, quality service is carried out identifying opportunities for business growth.
- Availability and on call for all emergencies relevant to this role.
- Supporting the Logistics Unit Manager with compilation of budgets, maximising revenue, controlling costs, forecasting and variance explanation.
- Ensuring the effective utilisation of both mechanical and human resources, in performing the services.
- Ensuring direct reports are fully compliant with all company policies and procedures.
- An understanding of fleet operating systems
- Full knowledge of Road Transport and Environmental legislation
- Ability to route vehicles effectively taking into account profit and productivity
- Previous experience of customer experience management and strategy
- Previous experience controlling fleet activities.
- Hold a full CPC in road transport, or to be committed to attaining one within a short timescale
