Programme Funding Manager - Comic Relief and EC

Join us until the end of September 2017 and be part of a global team working to build institutional funding success for programmes that create long-term positive change for poor and excluded people.

Join ActionAid as a Programme Funding Manager and you will be part of a global team working to build institutional funding success for programmes that create long-term positive change for poor and excluded people. We offer fantastic career opportunities for experienced sector professionals who want to be part of an organisation that is making a real difference to the lives of over 15 million people in 45 countries.

As a Programme Funding Manager you will work at a strategic and operational level to generate, and ultimately increase, our programme funding income from Comic Relief and the EC. Your responsibilities will include leading our Comic Relief funding strategy, and managing AA's Comic Relief portfolio with the UK and with AA's countries, developing proposals/tenders for new Comic Relief opportunities, from the EC and potentially from other government donors. You will be skilled at stakeholder relationship management and experienced in proposal development, including ideally multi-country EC proposals.

You will keep abreast of donor priorities and policy, sharing intelligence internally to ensure we capitalise on any synergies and communicate learning across the organisation to make sure we continue to operate effectively and meet funding targets. In addition you will help develop the capacity of ActionAid staff to secure and manage donor contracts efficiently.

With your track record of developing programme funding strategies, you know how to deliver income against targets, secure funding from large foundations/institutional donors and cultivate strong donor relationships.

You are also a strong project manager with knowledge of project cycle management including problem analysis, project design, financial planning/management, monitoring and evaluation. In addition you have a good understanding of international development issues, excellent written and spoken English, up-to-date MS Office skills and the ability to travel overseas.
