Functional Skills English Teacher (2.5 days per week) based in Gobowen, Oswestry, Shropshire, offering a salary of up to £11,272 (up to £23,322 FTE)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Skills English Teacher to join our College.
The key role responsibilities are:
- Keep Functional Skills (FS) English knowledge up to date through CPD
- Deliver FS English discrete provision
- Create programmes of work that are innovative, up to date and appropriate to meet learners’ individual FS needs
- Record and track individual learners’ progress in FS English
- Understand and influence cross college FS improvement priorities
- Identify learners with specific FS needs for discrete provision and strategies
- Develop and share FS resources
- Undertake diagnostic assessments, write reports and achieve and set appropriate initial FS objectives
- Prepare learners for FS accreditation where appropriate and through development of underpinning skills
- Undertake FS English accreditation
- Support and undertake FS competitions / projects
Person Specification:
- Teaching qualification / Specialist Qualification
- Subject specific qualification in English
- Knowledge of accreditation and RARPA
- Motivated and proactive individual
- Proven success of working within a similar role
- Outstanding communication skills with individuals/ staff at all levels
