Job Role:

West Lindsey is an ambitious authority with an excellent reputation for innovation and desire to inspire their residents, businesses and investors. Their Planning Services team are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Conservation Officer to provide heritage advice and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders in respect of development proposals within the district. The post-holder will also be responsible for ensuring that Conservation Area Appraisals are up to date and provide specialist expert advice to the growth and planning policy teams to assist with the formation of local plan policies and Neighbourhood Plans.

The District covers a large and predominantly rural area with a rich and varied heritage offer, including over 900 listed buildings, 25 Conservation Areas, over 50 historic parks & gardens and over 100 Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The built environment covers a mix of fine market towns, rural villages and hamlets as well as vast swathes of beautiful countryside.

In addition to having at least 5 years' post qualification of an IHBC post graduate degree or diploma in building conservation, or considerable appropriate conservation experience, applicants should possess excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
