Payroll Administrator
Warrington, Cheshire

Our client is a global leader in metal recycling employing 4500 staff across 170 locations around the world. Their recycling process begins with the collection of scrap metal from businesses, manufacturers, construction sites, government bodies and the general public. Forming part of their Group Finance and Accounts function based at Warrington, our client’s dedicated in-house Payroll department takes responsibility for almost 1,800 UK staff receiving salary.

Payroll Administrator
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working alongside one other Payroll Administrator, your main priority is to ensure that employees are paid correctly and on time.  

As one of two Payroll Administrators, you will be responsible for processing a weekly payroll of around 1000 employees and your main duties will include:

- Checking data on weekly timesheets/input sheets received from depots and data loading into the payroll system
- Loading new starters, leavers, amendments and rate changes
- Calculating and processing SSP/SMP/OSPP/Shared Parental Pay
- Sending BACS Payments
- Processing P45s and Starter Checklists
- Generating reports utilising Excel
- 3rd party deductions – CSA / Attachment of Earnings etc.
- Managing Auto Enrolment and issuing appropriate letters
- Submission of pension contributions online to pension provider
- Utilising systems such as Sage Snowdrop Payroll/HR System

The Person

- An understanding of PAYE, NIC and/or Payroll legislation
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel 

As a Payroll Administrator, you’ll also need exceptional communication skills and a collaborative approach. The ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks and a deadline-oriented approach is also key. 

Ideally, you will be CIPP qualified or studying towards the CIPP Foundation Degree in Payroll, but this is not essential.
