We are currently seeking a highly experienced individual to join this team in the role of Financial Promotions Consultant.

In this role, you will:

- Provide a flexible, tailored first line support compliance consultancy service to support the UK RBWM Marketing team, providing informal and formal financial promotion compliance advice, guidance and training (as and when required).
- Assist the team in identifying, understanding, avoiding and/or mitigating against compliance risk with regard to financial promotions.
- Review and approve all non-financial promotional Marketing and other customer facing content and low risk/less complex financial promotions that are to appear on the HSBC UK public website, seeking assistance from second line compliance/legal and other stakeholders as required.
- Foster and maintain an attitude of 'can do' compliance, being commercially aware and solutions focused, helping the business balance creativity and commercial needs with compliance requirements (taking account of changing economic/market conditions and the impact of new technology).
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of regulatory and industry changes/developments in relation to financial promotions and proactively communicating and educating changes/developments to the UK RBWM Marketing team.
- Assist the UK RBWM Marketing team to ensure all content produced is clear, fair and not-misleading, socially responsible and advising if content is believed to be likely to cause any widespread harm/offence or likely to generate customer complaints/regulatory intervention.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Role relevant qualifications, i.e. degree or equivalent experience.
- Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. some travel will be initially required between London and Birmingham due to the team being geographically dispersed.
- Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. experience of reviewing and approving financial promotions and other marketing/customer facing communications. Familiar with all regulations, laws and codes relating to financial advertising, including the financial promotion rules and guidance contained in the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Handbook (COBS, CONC, MCOB, ICOBS, IBCOBS and PERG) and the UK Advertising Codes issued by CAP and BCAP.
- Relevant knowledge and experience in the review of and approval of financial promotions and other marketing/customer facing communications.

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
