Seeking a Senior Lawyer to negotiate major corporate contracts for provision of white-collar administration services across a wide client base.

About the role

The role of Senior Lawyer/Legal Counsel is responsible for negotiating major corporate contracts for provision of white-collar administration services across a wide client base in central and local government, retail and financial services. The post forms part of a 6-person team located in London.

Capita Legal are responsible for the governance of resolution of differences between clients, suppliers and third party relationships. This includes resolution of differences by informal negotiation, mediation, litigation and pre-action disclosure protocols.

What you will do:

Work with bid teams and relevant Group businesses to develop winning commercial propositions for major business process outsourcing deals

Work with Head of Group Legal and Group Finance Director to ensure Group commercial policy is followed and exceptions properly approved

Take responsibility for completion of new contracts, from initial mark-up through to signing

Advise business managers on issues arising on current contracts.

Your experience will include:

Legal qualification is desirable but not essential.

Background in commercial contracts, especially covering white-collar services and business process outsourcing.

Ability to mark-up contracts is essential.

Ability to work independently as member of bid teams and to negotiate directly with clients.

Willingness to work away during negotiations where necessary.
