The role of Logistics Manager will be to ensure that operational performance meets all business targets and to deliver a robust plan of continuous improvement based on the principals & objectives of the business needs. Only candidates with experience in the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector will be considered. The role is commutable from Liverpool, Warrington, Wigan, Preston and Manchester. Client Details My client is a relatively new retailer with exciting growth plans. The role will be based at their distribution centre in Lancashire. Description The role of the Logistics Manager: Achieve and demonstrate steps to exceed KPI target expectations.Have a thorough understanding of all processes within the operation.Review forecasts and ensure appropriate staffing and equipment levels at all times.Review the Overtime / Agency procedure including both mid-week to week ends.Ensure direct reports have regular 1-2-1's with their team.Establish daily meetings with all key staff to update on progress / planned activity and record & action all issues arising from meetings.Establish area specific action teams to gain grass root input. (i.e. Picking, Packing, Returns, singles, put-away etc) - OCC Circles.Carry out at least 1 floor-walk per day, and take actions on findings.Authorise the use of additional resources with agreement of line Manager, such as additional hours, overtime; agency or temporary staff within limits set by the General Manager on a daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal basis. Profile The Successful Logistics Manager will have: Previous experience in managing a large teamExperience in managing within an automated environment (desirable)Sound knowledge on a number of WMS systemsExperience within an e-comm environmentProven background in promoting a positive culture / colleague engagement Job Offer Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 per annum Hours: Typically Monday - Friday (days) flexibility is required to meet business demands
