Our client is a leading national planning and design consultancy. They have an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Senior Planner to join their Town Planning team in Milton Keynes.

The Town Planning team in Milton Keynes has specialists in Planning, Masterplanning and Architecture. The successful Senior Planner will have an opportunity to work across a broad portfolio of projects with support and guidance from more senior members of the office. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to rapidly develop their career as part of a supportive and collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical planning skills, an enthusiasm for high quality and sustainable placemaking and for providing exceptional service and advice to clients. Key Responsibilities:

- Delivering a comprehensive planning service on developments by coordinating professional teams to submit a range of applications
- Promoting medium and large scale developments (Greenfield and Brownfield) through the Local Development Framework
- Assisting with developing client relationships
- Co-ordination of project teams and project management
- Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for client use
- Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications
- Preparation of planning statements
- Policy representations

Candidate Profile:

- Have strong knowledge of current planning legislation, ideally with experience working on residential developments
- Have demonstrable working knowledge of Development Management (planning policy experience would be desirable too)
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with both internal and external clients
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Are able to work with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative
- Have a strong team capability
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car
- Have a RTPI qualification (a RTPI accredited degree, and potentially chartered MRTPI status)
