Documentation Configuration Engineer
A Documentation Configuration Engineer is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Portsmouth.
This is a 6-month contract with a leading UK Defence Business.
Overview of the Documentation Configuration Engineer contract role
Responsible for the extraction of Technical Data from Technical Approved Documentation in order to maintain a bespoke relational database (SSDD), and ensuring that engagement with the key stakeholders is maintained to facilitate and maintain capture of the right source material.
Key skills required for the Documentation Configuration Engineer
* Understanding of MoD Configuration Management Principles
* Understand technical documentation and ships systems
* Apprenticeship/ONC/HNC in an engineering subject
* Working knowledge Configuration Accounting processes
* Engineering background - Drawing/Design office, RN maintainer or similar
* Working knowledge of RN Ships Technical Documentation and processes.
* The ability to represent the MRDC (Ships) in attending MOD and Industry stakeholder sites on a regular basis, and maintain engagement to support the requirements of the stakeholders and ensure source material is made available to enable capture of the right data at the right time
The role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire - commutable from Southampton, Cowes, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Guildford, Aldershot, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Chichester
