Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Salary: Competitive based upon experience
A prestigious manufacturing and engineering company are now looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join their team.
Health, Safety & Environmental - Purpose of the Role
To apply sound legislative, moral and commercial awareness in effectively managing the HSE aspects and systems of the business. Delivering continuous improvements by using HSE methodologies, best practice, skills, engineering knowledge and people.
Health, Safety & Environmental - Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Instrumental in the development and continuous improvement of a culture of where HSE is core to the activities of the business.
- Determining root cause of accidents, incidents and other concerns and implementing cost effective solutions.
- Ensure the day-to-day running and continuous development of the HSE Management Systems, in consultation with the QHSE management team. Ensure it is suitable and sufficient for the risks encountered.
- Champion a core initiative in moving forward the HSE risk analysis based culture.
- Liaise with all levels of management to ensure compliance practices are maintained within the business environment and all production related projects.
- Responsible for the implementation of effective controls resulting from the internal audit programme and controlling activities that affect HSE.
- Collecting and evaluating HSE related data and initiating any necessary containment, corrective and preventive action.
- Key contributor to setting and achieving Objectives/Targets.
- Develop the Company HSE Plan and create project related HSE Plans.
Health, Safety & Environmental - job requirements:
The ideal candidate must come from the manufacturing industry as a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- Ideally hold a recognised engineering qualification such as HNC, HND or BEng (Not Essential)
- Ideally have a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate
- Hold an environmental management qualification or member of IEMA
- Ideally be a member of IOSH
- Experience of both OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001
