Engineering Manager - FMCG

GBP45,000 - GBP50,000

COMPANY:

My client is a blue chip manufacturer of an FMCG product and turnover is well into the billions. They produce a household branded product and are currently growing the Manchester site to the standards of the rest of the business.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the site manager, the role will include;

Ensure safety issues that require an engineering or Capex solution are concluded in a timely manner.
*

Continually develop and ensure the planned and preventative maintenance (PM) schedules are correctly adhered to and that completion rates fall within targets.
*

Develop monitoring systems and processes to ensure PM work is effective.
*

Review all downtime, planned and unplanned, and ensure maintenance schedules are changed accordingly.
*

Monitor any service contracts and provide feedback and take corrective action where necessary.
*

Deliver the site engineering budget.
*

Deliver the site engineering labour budget.
*

Provide year on year improvements in the site engineering labour and MRO budget.
*

Control and monitor engineering labour levels to ensure that production demands are effectively met.
*

Meet machine efficiencies and engineering KPIs as defined and agree with the Plant Manager.
*

Monitor performance of all plant equipment and implement downtime reduction activities.
*

Ensure all engineering work is carried out in an efficient and timely manner, in association with current best practice (CBP) and within health, safety and environmental legislation.
*

Ensure the engineering stock is operated in a structured manner
*

Ensure all relevant data is processed through the CMMS.
*

50/50 hands on machines hands off

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience;

*

FMCG Manufacturing experience
*

Time served engineer with the relevant qualifications (HNC or higher)
*

Desirable - mechanical bias
*

Open to being hands on fixing the machines whilst the team grows
