The Role of Asset Information (Data) Analyst

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as an Asset Information Analyst, in this role you will support the asset management life-cycle through the provision of effective data analysis & outputs that deliver accurate regulatory reporting and support NGN's investment planning & associated investment tools.

The role encompasses data governance, quality monitoring and ensuring processes & standards are robust, contributing to the achievement of departmental and business-wide objectives.

Principle accountabilities are to:

  • Support internal regulatory reporting processes as a nominated contributor, including compilation of asset data.
  • Undertake advanced data analysis utilising SAP and supporting datasets/systems, providing recommendations & initiatives to drive data improvements and efficiencies.
  • Work directly with key stakeholders to develop and implement data improvement projects, including information flow processes & support improvements in technology.
  • Provide outputs to support investment planning, business plans, the asset management life-cycle and reporting of NGN's network output measures.
  • Ensure data standards & supporting policies & procedures are robust and utilised properly through effective data quality monitoring/audit & procedural improvements.
  • Provide technical support across the Asset Information team, including GIS/CAD updates.
  • Provide guidance and MI to the Asset Information team and Head of Asset Information.
  • Operate in compliance with NGN policy and procedures, including data protection and information security policy.

The ideal Asset Information (Data) Analyst

To apply for this role we ask that you have:-

  • High level of competence with SAP, Microsoft Excel (utilising formulas, macros, pivot tables etc) and other Office suite tools
  • Experience of working with large and complex data sets, analysing data and harvesting insights from multiple sources.
  • Experience working on projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written (including document preparation) and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to logically approach a problem
  • Flexible approach to working across broad topic areas, locations and meeting tight timescales.
  • Proactive individual with the ability to manage projects autonomously
  • Knowledge of Gas Industry and knowledge of investment and operational requirements in particular classes of assets e.g. Offtakes, Pipelines would be desirable but not essential.

The Package

  • Personal Contract - Permanent
  • Circa £24k - £29k per annum dependent upon skills & experience
  • 40 Hours per week
  • Bonus - Up to 10% based upon both personal & corporate objectives.
  • SSP for first 5 working days, then occupational sick pay
