Summary

Based in Swindon we have an urgent requirement for a Qualified Electrical Engineer with a 17th Edition City & Guilds 2382-15 qualification who has (preferably) experience in an automated GMP regulated environment. This a varied role covering all aspects of planned preventative maintenance and re-active repairs / maintenance of the automated production equipment plus the related clean room facilities. The role has a strong electrical bias and is offered on a contract shift basis working on revolving 2 x 12 hour days then 2 x 12 nights then 4 days / nights off. The initial contract will be for 6 months with a competitive salary equivalent and 33% shift allowance.

The Swindon operation offers "state-of-the art" automated contract manufacturing facilities for drugs that are ingested using fast dissolving technologies. Priding themselves on innovative solutions, quality standards, service and delivery they provide a "one stop shop" facility that is fully cGMP compliant.

The Role

This will be a busy and varied shift based (revolving 2 x 12 hour days then 2 x 12 nights then 4 days / nights off) role including the following responsibilities:

- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on all Utility equipment throughout the factory plant and production areas ensuring equipment runs at its optimum efficiency.
- Complete re-active repairs and maintenance to the facility and equipment.
- To attend breakdowns and take appropriate action to return plant to production in a timely manner whilst adhering to safe working procedures and maintaining a standard of good engineering practice.
- Using the engineering computer system to record all work, to enable accurate machine history and effectively planned routine maintenance records.
- Completion of quality documentation systems for all engineering work.
- Providing handovers to the oncoming shift engineering team.
- Ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Health and Safety and other legal obligations are complied with including cGMP regulations.
- Carry out root cause analysis to determine solutions for improvement.
- Carry out Equipment Improvement Projects on own initiative, or team based.
- Keeping abreast of the current regulatory requirements.
- Work with and assist contractors and project teams as necessary.
- Support Operational Excellence initiatives in particular relating to Energy Saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards at all times.
- Assist with plant engineering improvements.
- Deliver greater plant reliability through effective engineering practices, always aiming for sustainable greater uptime and reliability of plant and equipment.

Experience

The successful candidate will be an experience Qualified (to at least NVQ 3 Diploma) Electrical Engineer with 17th Edition City & Guilds 2382-15 qualification. Your experience will preferably have been gained in a cGMP regulated environment support automated production equipment and the related facilities. You will have the ability to fault find to electrical control circuit level as well as understand electrical drawings backed by a goof level of computer literacy.
