Our client based on the outskirts of Midsomer Norton is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor
Excellent salary dependent upon experience
Monday - Friday, 42.5 hours per week
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for supervising team leaders and warehouse operatives within a high volume FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) warehousing operation and ensuring that all products are dealt with and recorded with excellent detail. The Warehouse Supervisor will have strong man management skills and will be expected to be hands on and help the floor staff where necessary.
Leading, coaching and developing a shift of 2 team leaders and up to 30 colleagues, you'll stress the importance of working with pace and accuracy and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Ensuring all KPIs and business targets are achieved, you'll make sure your team understands how vital the role they perform is to our customers.
With knowledge of warehouse management systems, proven analytical skills and experience of shift supervision gained in an FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) warehousing environment, you'll focus on inspiring high performance levels and effectively managing a diverse workforce. You'll be confident and flexible with superb communication skills and you'll know exactly how to gain the respect of your team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
*Build team philosophy and cultivate a team atmosphere by working with the team to achieve the company's targets and objectives
*Maintain training matrix and ensure employees are adequately trained and competent within their role
*Be responsible for achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI's
*Monitoring performance to ensure the DC achieves high performance levels
*In conjunction with Operations Manager implement warehouse systems and working practices in line with best practise and continuous improvement
*Planning, managing and adjusting staffing levels in line with workload
*Provide accurate daily information to enable effective handover
*Ensure all warehouse staff comply with H&S regulations
Essential Requirements
*Proven supervisory/management experience within high volume FMCG warehousing environment
*Knowledge of warehouse management systems
*Knowledge of MHE/FLT safe use and maintenance
*Proven experience of H&S regulations and implementation in warehouse environment
*Excellent PC skills
*Good communicator both verbal and written
*Ability to work on own initiative, working to strict deadlines
*Good knowledge and experience of disciplinary/grievance procedures
*Stock control experience
