Safety, Health & Environmental Advisor - South West, Frome, Shepton and surrounding areas Reporting to the Lead Safety, Health & Environmental Advisor The role covers the a defined geographic area of the UK in line with the areas defined by the SHE Manager, The post holder will operate across all business lines and provide advice and support to the business as required. The number of sites included in the area will be subject to change as the needs of the business may require it. Although predominantly working in the area defined by the Senior SHE Manager, the post holder will from time to time be required to travel outside of their normal area of work. The successful candidate will have experience in any of the following sectors, aggregates, construction, quarry etc. The key objective for the post-holder is: Elimination of workplace accidents, environmental incidents and ill health within their respective area of control.To assist in the continued development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS).To promote competence training, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, disseminating best practice and carrying out behavioural auditing and site inspections.The post-holder will support operational management in their respective area of the business on SHE issues, providing suitable advice, assistance and training.To promote competence training, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, disseminating best practise and carrying out behavioural auditing and site inspections for Health and Safety, Environment and Sustainability. A thorough knowledge of the plant and production methods is desirable as is a good understanding of management systems and auditing. Applicants should be competent in using the Company computer systems based on Microsoft Office applications. Applicants will be required to have appropriate Safety, Health and Environmental qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH/IEMA Certificate or equivalent, NEBOSH/IEMA Diploma, Trained in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and IOSH/IEMA membership would be desirable) and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
