Packing Manager - Food Production GBP45k plus benefits

The Packing Manager reports to the Factory Manager and is responsible for three supervisors - who manage 50 staff and who operate high-speed lines. The company constantly invests in new technology and equipment. You would be in charge of: Management of packing, including: - Ensuring productivity is at correct levels;- Notifying Factory Director of any productivity or quality issues;- Ensuring activities comply with health & safety laws; Management of Staff, including: - Ensuring all staff are fully trained and conversant with systems and operating practices;- Counselling and encouraging staff;- Encourage open dialog with staff over improvement and quality issues;- Highlight any additional training requirements; Other, including: - Ensuring all plant in kept in good order and safe working condition;- Ensuring all records are kept up-to-date;- Work towards the elimination of non-compliance;- Ensuring staff and equipment work to UK regulatory requirements;- Any other duties senior management may require of you from time-to-time. We want to see experience of people management.The management here is hands on; at busy times, all hands to deck. You must be able to manage 6 big production lines and make sure they keep humming -- we expect technical qualifications and background. We strongly prefer food industry experience. We also will be looking for commercial awareness and appreciation. We are looking for someone who can step into this job and be managing competently from day one. Packing Manager Salary: GBP35,000 to GBP45,000 per Annum Additional Package Info: 53 weeks' salary; pension contribution
