Our client is seeking a Packaging Coordinator to co-ordinate the packaging process in line with the critical path key dates, working to support the QA Supervisor to achieve on time launch for the various product categories.

JOB SUMMARY
As Packaging Coordinator you are responsible for all stages of packaging. Effectively carrying out proof reading and strict checks in relation to packaging specifications, artwork and guidelines. This includes colour matching, layout and sizing, quality and accuracy of text and product information. Working to critical path deadlines with suppliers and customers to obtain key stage approvals for on time product launch.
New Guidelines must be checked for missing or inaccurate information and issued to suppliers once confirmed correct. Amendments and mistakes must be highlighted to the customer and dealt with accordingly. Rolling changes on packaging must be controlled, working closely with Suppliers, Merchandise and the Warehouse so that orders and stock can be managed and identified.
- Ensure Packaging Projects, Research and Competitor Analysis is recorded and maintained.
- Highlight packaging issues internally, to suppliers and customers - as required.

KEY TASKS
Duties shall include but not be limited to the following:
- Operate machinery and equipment provided if required to carry out the duties of the post.
- Take part in the appropriate training required to carry out the duties of the post and to enhance personal development.
- Soft Copy and Hard Copy deadline dates must be set and notified to suppliers in line with the launch date to achieve on time launch
- Soft Proof and Hard Proofs must be proof read for accuracy, and feedback given to the suppliers
- Ensure quality and continuity of packaging inserts and outer packaging is maintained for future deliveries
- Understand and work to all new packaging requirements for all clients and product categories
- Liaising with customers and suppliers to obtain new packaging sign off in a timely manner
- Give clear instructions for amendments and changes in order to achieve correct packaging standards. Amendments must be sent in writing and a copy of the email must go in the file.
- Soft proofs must be printed off to scale and checked on paper in addition to the on screen checking
- Monitor packaging continuity across the product sectors and supply chain
- Maintain accurate records and files (electronically and physical files) including approved & stamped soft and hard proofs in the product file
- Ensure product details for packaging are checked against the system and again when testing is available.
- Ensure barcode numbers are correct, ensure stickers scan and that retail prices are correct
- Keep the critical path spreadsheet up to date and attend critical path meetings & communicate rejection reports within the business and to suppliers
- Assist with corrective improvement plans and problem solving as required
- Respond to customer requests and provide information in a timely and professional manner
- Produce and maintain a packaging manual and specifications for packaging
- Use Photoshop to speed up the packaging proofing process, and to mock up packaging artwork and ideas as required
- Coordinate urgent spot checks/ unplanned inspections on packaging as and when required
- Administration duties to include record keeping, inputting and analysis of information, responding to e-mails and telephone calls.
- Assist with resolution of customer complaints and implementation of root cause corrective actions related to packaging issues
- Place Purchase Orders for packaging with printers as required
- Attend meetings with suppliers and customers as required
- Update the continuous improvement process log as required
- Perform any reasonable request as given by the management team.
