Teams based at our Leicester office that are currently recruiting facilitate the promotion of excellence in psychology through delivering conferences and events and providing information to the public.
Our Conference and Events team is lively and hard-working, with responsibility for the organisation of over 100 events each year. We have an exciting vacancy for a Conference & Professional Development Centre Assistant in the Professional Development Centre. We are looking for someone that is extremely well-organised, thrives under pressure and has experience in a challenging customer-facing role. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong negotiation skills and preferably experience organising conferences, lectures or workshops. Evidence of previous budget-management experience and successful team work are highly desirable.
Starting salary £21,000 pa.

1. The Role
We are looking for someone to join our busy Professional Development Centre helping to administer and organise conferences and events. You will need to have proven admin skills along with experience in a customer-facing role. You should enjoy multi-tasking and must be able to travel to our conferences.
You will need previous experience of organising conferences or professional development events, including communicating with internal and external suppliers, managing events on site and organising conferences to tight budgets and deadlines. You will represent the team and the Society at committee meetings, supplier meetings and face-to-face with delegates at conferences.
2. The Person
