Building Surveyor

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team based in Birmingham/Leicester. As a Building Surveyor you will be working on a variety of projects and survey type work, predominately in the public sector on Education based project delivery. You will deliver services across all aspects of the building surveying service line, but with a focus on project delivery.  

The team's work offers rich variety. It spans projects of all sizes and covers Education, Local Government, Residential Regeneration, and Culture and Arts sectors, both new build and refurbishment. Beyond the team itself, there are excellent opportunities for shaping the career you want. You will be given roles that let you play to your strengths and will get the support you need to flourish professionally

Essential (professional experience):

• RICS accredited degree, with relevant post qualification experience.
• Experience of property refurbishment and new build.
• A good track record as a professional Building Surveyor with a desire for a progressive career.
• Previous public sector experience including working within the education sector and schools work desirable.

Essential (business experience):

• A team player capable of collaborating with others to achieve outputs in an interactive way.
• A person who can develop and maintain good relationship with both colleagues and clients and can gain the confidence of others.
• Must have the ability to plan and manage a diverse and flexible workload.
• Experience of controlling quality and the timely delivery of projects.
• A broad thinker who can take a pragmatic view of projects.
• An ability to achieve excellent service delivery and build successful relationships with clients.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in both the public and private sector.
• An interest in further developing skills and experience in a wide range of building surveying functions, with a focus and track record on project delivery.
• MRICS or willingness to progress and achieve Chartered status.
