Ecology Team Leader - Suffolk

My client is a successful environmental consultancy who provide expert services in Ecology, Arboriculture and Landscape Architecture. This organisation work on a range of client projects from large landscape design work to residential and educational developments. This company pride themselves on keeping the goals and aspirations of the client at the forefront of their minds throughout the process. My client is now looking to recruit an Ecology Team Leader to head up the team in their Suffolk office.

Requirements

- BSc or equivalent in Ecology, Biology or a related Environmental discipline
- 5-7 years' post graduate experience within an environmental or ecological consultancy
- Team and project management experience
- At least one protected species licence (e.g. bat, GCN, dormouse, barn owl)
- Extensive survey experience
- The ability to produce a range of ecological reports and documents
- In depth understanding of UK legislation and Planning Policy
- Motivated and enthusiastic
- Committed to learn and improve
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Full CIEEM membership
- Full, clean UK driving licence

Responsibilities

- Leading, developing and growing the Ecology Team
- Maintaining existing client relationships as well as acquiring new business for the company
- Motivating the team to meet targets and business goals
- Preparing budgets and forecasts, preparing and following up fee quotes
- Ensuring staff have full training, mentoring and support
- Liaising with a range of clients, the Chairman and Financial Advisor
- Overseeing ecological work and resourcing work accordingly
- Preparing EcIAs, reports and Environment Statements
- Assisting with habitat management and extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys
