Warehouse Supervisor

Barbour is looking for an enthusiastic individual to play a key role in supporting the Warehouse Shift Managers in the efficient running of its Warehouse. As Warehouse Supervisor, you will need to communicate clear, precise instructions to team members and plan/ organise daily workload to be able to cope with fluctuating demands. You should consult other internal departments on a daily basis to discuss labour requirements and to ensure priorities and deadlines are achievable and will be required to assess levels of overtime in line with budgets. You will support, engage and communicate with staff, participate in team briefs and conduct Return to Work interviews. You will need to be able to deal with staff issues; preparing and delivering performance reviews to direct reports and seasonal temporary/ agency labour, dealing with performance issues and providing one-to-one training when needed and carrying out internal investigations and disciplinary meetings. Safe Working Practices must be adhered to at all times. The ideal candidate will have: sound knowledge of working in a warehouse environment and the systems and procedures involved, as well as knowledge of IT software packages (Windows, Office & In-house databases). You will be able to motivate and communicate with staff, tackle staff performance issues and be flexible and cooperative in relation to overtime working and assisting other departments when deemed necessary. Please note this is a full time position (37.5 hours) working on Follingsby Park, Gateshead, moving to Bedesway, South Shields in due course. You must be able to work the shift pattern which is 7am - 3pm and 2.30pm - 10.30pm.
