Job Title - EE Power and Infrastructure Services Engineer

Key Purpose of role
Execution of work: Executes allocated and self-identified work in a timely and quality manner. Where possible, self-pins jobs from the systems using own expertise and the available decision framework to ensure higher priority work is delivered first. Covers dual or more functions requiring the application of different skills. Responsible for entering accurate codes and quality notes on appropriate systems (e.g. Eng.com, inventory systems), that are meaningful and which can be used onward by colleagues and customers.
Standard of work & equipment: Works on EE/BT equipment in accordance with documented procedures and practices as provided by EE/BT and its suppliers; agree any changes - if required - with line manager or process owner. Accountable for the installation, maintenance and security of equipment whilst in attendance at a EE/BT building or location where EE/BT equipment is provided; this includes looking after tools, testers and vehicles.
Building/Infrastructure ownership: Understands performance of the assigned Buildings as per performance dashboard. Actively contributes to improving overall performance & reliability by engaging with line manager and team colleagues and by agreeing appropriate actions and by proactively taking ownership of actions to resolve issues through to resolution. Also responsible for the implementation of assigned projects or work packages.
Continuous improvement: Continually and consistently explores and provides quality and cost-effective solutions for our customers and suppliers. Participates in team performance huddles/meetings. Demonstrates personal contribution to driving improvements which speed up and simplify how the team works, by engaging with the team to generate ideas, taking ownership of improvements and demonstrating actions taken to progress these improvements to completion. Communicates any problems e.g. operational, safety, security and provides constructive suggestions for resolution and/or improvement. Analyses and develops solutions considering several aspects; acts as a consultant when appropriate. Makes sure any RCA requirement is completed.
Team work: Able & willing to assist others and acts as a second line support. Takes on coaching role towards colleagues and new joiners especially regarding his/her primary skills.
Development & up-skilling: Proactively identifies own training and development needs and proactively agrees with line manager a development plan in line with the skilling gaps and business needs in the patch.
Drives own performance: Has a joint responsibility for personal development and performance with the line manager. Ensures effective two way communication by attending regular team and 1-1 meetings. Communicates any operational or personal issues, including unscheduled absence from duty e.g. sick absences & accidents to line manager or appropriate authority within BT.
Health & Safety: Delivers work with full regard of H&S aspects. Carries out on-site risk assessments giving careful consideration to any hazards before starting work, and as the work progresses. Is comfortable asking others to display their ID passes when on EE/BT premises.
Communication skills: Deals with complex queries & provides information/answers - verbally and in writing, in a straightforward & constructive manner. Addresses internal and external customer complaints using appropriate procedures.
ICT literacy: Confident user of MS Office suite, especially MS Word, Excel and Outlook (e-mail).
Out-Of-Hours Arrangements : All team members joining EES (externally or internally) to provide a contractual call-out cover, minimum 1 in 4 as required by the local business need, and in line with Terms and Conditions. You will be expected to Participate in key OOH's activities such as Power supervision support, UPS Maintenance, Generator Testing and adhoc project support activities required to support the business needs.

Electrical competency F-GAS category 1 - (essential) IT literacy - good working knowledge of emails, Excel, Word Good working knowledge of various cooling systems (DX, Dry Coolers & Chillers) Demonstrable experience of working on mechanical & electrical systems Full UK driving Licence
