Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Plymouth, South Devon, UK
An outstanding opportunity for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor has arisen for our exciting world class open cast mining project in Devon.
The position of Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision, prioritisation and planning of mechanical maintenance activities for all fixed processing equipment in a manner that will have a direct positive impact on profitability, efficiency, cost management, quality and safety. This includes:
- Facilitate on the ground adherence to the preventative maintenance strategy for the mine site;
- To mechanically maintain process plant, pit and ancillary equipment, along with laboratory maintenance support;
- To make effective use of the maintenance software to plan and schedule mechanical preventative maintenance activities;
- To show flexibility, commitment and enthusiasm;
- Suggest strategies that accelerate and improve mechanical maintenance practices and processes to improve equipment performance, reliability and lower repair costs.
- Ensure mechanical maintenance workshops are kept up to 5S standards of organisation and tidiness.
- Provide information as requested to help annual mechanical equipment budgeting.
- Ensure that all mechanical maintenance activities are conducted safely without danger to personnel or equipment.
We are seeking candidates with an NVQ 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and similar mechanical or heavy fixed processing plant maintenance experience. An ONC or HNC in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be familiar with CMMS systems and will have strong mechanical problem solving experience. Mobile plant, welding, cutting, crushing, screening, slurry, water pumps, filter, dryer and kiln experience would be an advantage. Evidence of previous engineering supervisory experience would also be advantageous.
