The Role
The head of Pricing and Promotions will have;
Accountability for overseeing the promotional process and timelines - completing the relevant analysis to enable the category teams to deliver effective promotional programmes and "pricing"
Fully support the Category Directors in delivering strong promotion plans and "pricing" for our retailers and the consumer, revenue, income and margin
This role will lead the implementation and changes to trading working practices (with the Category Directors)

The candidate
The Pricing & Promotions Manager will be required to perform the following duties:-

PROMOTIONS - Manage the end to end promotion process;
Co-ordinate the production of the annual promotional plan at the beginning of each year. Outline shape and size of the plan, discuss and agree it with relevant stakeholders with and on behalf of the CD's (this will be an evolving plan)
By promotional period manage the timelines and activities with each stakeholder to ensure the promotional plans are delivered on time and aligned to agreed quality
Analysis to measure quality and effectiveness of each promotional period plan and then make recommendations for enhancements, (consider sales revenues, margin, uplift in sales, consumer response and work with teams to incorporate changes for future periods)
Make recommendations to the CD's at each stage of the promotion process, number of offers, depth, match to original plan and request, margin (wholesale and retail) to ensure effectiveness
Support trading teams on volume forecasting and the analysis for each period should also review quality of forecast volumes and changes
Build on and develop the processes to facilitate effective promotions and pricing working with key stakeholders (for example incorporate sharepoint and review and enhance ways of working)

PRICE
manage all system requirements for price and support the category teams to hit price related financial targets;
Provide relevant data to develop (with relevant stakeholders) strategy on pricing i.e. who we match, when and any target differential
Price file integrity - overseeing category teams inputs, exception reporting, legal compliance with trading law, product family pricing, price changes, POR and managing PLOF production
Report CC position on pricing to relevant stakeholders accordingly (HOC's, Finance, Retail teams, forums - commercial meeting and retailer forums)
Compare CC pricing to the market (retail and wholesale to be considered)
Identify by exception problem areas and make recommendations at product and category level if necessary
System checking and working with IT to identify pricing anomalies and define enhancement

RANGE
Manage the range listing process between CSG, Buyco and P&H and ensure SLA's are met

BI & MI
Provide BI/MI support to the trading team, working with finance to ensure reporting is adequate
Support the Trading Director in ensuring Trading Team output is right first time
