JOB TITLE: Catering Assistant
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBPCompetative Salary + 20% enhancements for weekends
WORKING HOURS: Part time hours available, 18-24 hours per week to be worked on 7 day rota
THE COMPANY: Our client is the UK's leading charity supporting disabled people. For over 65 years they have supported disabled people in many different ways, to reflect their needs including providing care in people's own homes, through to employment and education.
THE ROLE: Catering Assistant, the Grove, East Carleton (Nr. Norwich), Norwich, NR14 8HP
My client runs a Residential care home for adults with physical disabilities at East Carleton. Could you support them by preparing, cooking and serving light meals? Can you assist in the smooth running of our busy kitchen? Do you have a basic knowledge of food hygiene and previous experience of working in a kitchen?

Key Responsibilities to include: - Catering Assistant, East Carleton (Nr. Norwich), Norwich, NR14 8HP
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with the scheduled menu, ensuring that preparation and cooking times allow for planned meal times.
- Participate in cleaning kitchen and dining areas as per cleaning schedule, ensuring that the required standard is met.
- To acquire knowledge of and carry out all safety precautions, fire drills, and personal and food hygiene practices.
- To report to the line manager any equipment faults or need to re-order supplies; also any concerns or issues that may affect staff or service users wellbeing or safety.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
Key Experience preferred for the role: - Catering Assistant, East Carleton (Nr. Norwich), Norwich, NR14 8HP
- Basic food preparation experience
- Food and Hygiene certificate advantages
- Good basic literacy and numeracy
- To be willing to undertake required training (including updates), sometimes off site and outside normal working hours.
- Experience of working with disabled people is desirable
- An engaging manner with ability to build rapport with people.
- Passion, enthusiasm and a real commitment to make a difference to people lives
